Privilege

Privilege is one thing that makes me wary about writing this blog at all. I come from a place of privilege. It’s as simple as that. I don’t know everything and I try not to think that the whole world should live as I do.

I come from a middle class family, I go to University, I have white skin, I live in Canada … all of these things and some that I probably haven’t even considered give me privilege over other people in this world. Even within my own town I can look around everywhere I go and see that I am more privileged than the majority.

I want to challenge my view of the world. I want to understand. I want to learn. I think that these are 3 factors that are extremely useful when one wishes to change the world.
